Betico Day Festivities

ORANJESTAD - On the 25th of January 2019, the Aruba community remembers and honors the birthdate of the great Aruban political leader, the late Gilberto Francois (Betico) Croes.

In connection with the upcoming festivities, the CCDN (Commission for the Celebration of the National Days) is organizing a formal event as well as a cultural manifestation for all dignitaries and invited guests on January 25th 2019.

The formal ceremony starts at 9am while the cultural manifestation is planned to start at 6:30pm at the Plaza Libertador Betico Croes at the Vondellaan and end at 10:30pm.

Statue Gilberto François (Betico) Croes on  Plasa Betico CroesThe cultural manifest will include the sale of handcrafted art pieces, local food, fresh beverages, coconut water, flowers, plants, books, herbal medicine, snow cones and many more. It also includes a kids corner with Dino-Jump.

According to the CCDN, there are still some vendor’s tents available for the sale of the above mentioned articles. For rental of these tents please contact Marlene Lampe at 5822185 or visit the office of the Department of Culture (DA Drogisterij building) located at the 1st floor.

Event organizers are requested by the CCDN to email all event schedules at info@cultura.aw addressed to Stan Dabian in order to have an overview of all events and to create an event map for visitors.
