Creative Non Fiction writing course by the National Library.

ORANJESTAD - The National Library of Aruba is offering a short course in creative non fiction writing in the month of February. 

The duration of the course is 1 month, with 2 classes each week. This course will be held at the main building of the National Library in Oranjestad, and will be instructed in Papiamento and English by coach Deedee Baarh. This advanced level (2) course costs Afl. 125,00 per participant.

The course will start on Monday February 4th followed by February 8, 11, 15, 18 and 26 from 5pm to 7 pm. Registration is by email; and should be completed before January 30th 2019.

Ad Creative non-fiction writingCreative non fiction writing is based on the personal experience and unique memories of the author. It serves the purpose to tell real stories using creative objects and techniques in the writing of fiction and poetry. It is the perfect mixture of real and personal facts, written in a interesting and pleasing way. Creative non fiction can be diversely shaped; travel writing, personal essay, lyrical essay, memoir, autobiography, journals or blog posting to mention just a few. This can be fascinating for those who enjoy writing their personal experiences and who want to either post, blog or publish in any form or just keep their writing in a private journal.

Deedee Baarh has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from the City College of New York, and has plenty of experience in the multiple fields of creative writing, proof reading and editing.
