After being treated to a warm, UA welcomed prospective students of all ages to the campus’ tropical, outdoor common area. Tables were set up - each representing one of the university's major fields of study. They were manned by both students and prominent lecturers of each faculty, who were accessible for questions and easily identified by their student-designed, UA T-shirts.
Shyly, at first, new students trickled into the common area. Starting a new phase of your education can be a slightly nerve-wracking experience but the University of Aruba prides itself on making people feel welcome. Both, recent high school graduates and working professionals who want to advance their careers, had easy access to information about the university's seven concentrations of study.
Some attendees knew exactly what they want to study and made a beeline for the faculty they were interested in, but others roamed about a bit - drinking in all the options of higher education offered at UA. Further details were provided during two sessions, when each faculty gave a brief presentation outlining a general overview of their program.
The University of Aruba has a very progressive approach to education. They are a forward-thinking academic institution which offers an educational experience that provides students with a strong academic foundation and caters to the specific needs of the Aruban community. UA has something for everyone!
The atmosphere of the open house was festive and excitement crackled through the air as the next generation of UA alumni began to find their place in UA’s vibrant, academic community. More than one student said that the event was more than just an open house - it felt like coming home.
