Imported romaine lettuce in Aruba

ORANJESTAD - The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is warning consumers about an E.coli outbreak originated with romaine lettuce.

So far 32 cases have been confirmed in the USA, where consumers became ill with symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea, primarily in the states like New York, Michigan, Wisconsin and California.

The local authorities for Goods and Hygiene inspection of the health department, have noticed the news but so far no official notification has been received from the CDC. Most of the imported lettuce is shipped from the countries like Colombia, The Netherlands and some from lower states like Florida.

According to the local authorities,  there is no indication that any E.coli infected lettuce is circulating on the island, they will however monitor and inspect the situation in Aruba.
