ORANJESTAD - The Department of Public Health is seeking the help of all who recently visited the Freewinds Cruise ship during April 14th and 29th of 2019.

Freewinds berthed at ArubaThis action is due to the measles virus detected on board. In the event you boarded the Freewinds Cruise ship during the above mentioned dates and have symptoms like coughing, soared, red or watery eyes, runny nose, rash or fever before the 21st of May 2019, you should contact the nursing care facility of the Department of Public Health at the Section of Contagious Diseases by calling 5224-224/236/237/261/264 or visit our office at Arivencastraat 1 from Monday to Friday between 7:45-12:00 and 1:30-16:30. During weekends please call 592-2009.

MeaslesEven though the chances of infection on board by local visitors are minimal, the Department of Public Health is still encouraging visitors to contact them to fill out the investigation form so they can assess the risks of each individual.

All physicians have been formally notified with the protocols on how to handle possible measles infected patients, according to the National Ordinance for Contagious Diseases.
