ESOLO foundation presented its health program for obese children Cool2BFit

ORANJESTAD - Recently the ESOLO foundation in presence of the Governor of Aruba, Mr. Alfonso Boekhoudt, collaborating organizations, and guests, officially introduced a new health program for obese children called Cool2BFit.

Mrs. Miriam Baiz, coordinator of the Cool2BFit program and also coordinator of the Healthy School Commission.The Governor of Aruba, H.E. Mr. Alfonso Boekhoudt, in the presence of collaborating organizations, and guests, during the official introduction by ESOL Foundation of  a new health program for obese children called Cool2BFit.This program is for children ages 4 to 13, from families with limited resources, who are struggling with obesity. According to the data from UNESCO (2013), about 35% of children in Aruba are obese.

The Cool2BFit program is a tool created by the ESOLO Foundation to help tackle this issue.

Mrs. Alice van Romondt of the ESOL FoundationMrs. Alice van Romondt of ESOLO Foundation explained the objective of this program and described the role of each of the participating collaborators. Mrs. Miriam Baiz, coordinator of the Cool2BFit program and also of the Healthy School Commission explained the program and the role of the ESOLO Foundation in this program.

The objective of this great incentive in Aruba is for a holistic focus on the issue of obesity. Therefore, they also included an “Intervention Team” consisting of a dietician, physical coach, physiotherapist and child behavior expert. It also includes collaborators who have an important role in the realization of this program.
