A total of 25 young men showed up at 7:00 am at the Dutch Marine Base in Savaneta to officially start the formation program.
They were accompanied by their enthusiast parents and relatives who have been urged to motivate and support the participants. The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mr. Glenbert Croes also wished participants the strength, courage, and perseverance.
The Social Formation Program is an important program for young men from the ages of 18 to 24 years, that want another opportunity for a better future. All of the participants have dropped out of school and are up to now only men. Participants that are MAVO graduates and aspire to have a career in the military can also register for the upcoming Social Formation Program. Soon young women will also be permitted to participate in the formation program.
Participants who complete the entire program can count on job intermediation from the Department of Social Affairs and the Department of Labor, with finding jobs.
