A Nelson song

ORANJESTAD – The National Library is announcing that the contemporary artist, Nelson Gonzalez, will be presenting a collection of prose, short stories, and poetry.

Nelson GonzalezThese reflect Nelson’s experiences, emotions, and perspectives on what is going on around the world. The literary publication‘s title “A Nelson Song” is published in the format of an Ebook. Nelson created the photography and authentic illustrations in this book. In his book, he contemplates the ocean and takes part in a conversation between different fruits. He is seeking what he misses and discovers a strange collection.

Nelson Gonzalez (’79) is a contemporary artist who has represented Aruba in the Havana Biennial Art Exhibition in 2015. Nelson Gonzalez is active as a visual artist and art teacher since 2000 in Aruba. In 2008 he founded Art Rap Foundation together with five other artists. He organizes expos regularly in Aruba, Curacao, and the Netherlands, where he exhibits his paintings, photographs, digital art, video art, and installation but also multidisciplinary theatrical art. His latest project, “Art in residence” took place in 2020 in Curacao. Nelson is very grateful to UNOCA Cares for the financial support for the realization of this publication.
