After three years, Aruba says farewell to Commander Frank Boots and welcomes Commander Walter Hansen

ORANJESTAD - On Monday, August 21, 2023, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes met with   Commander Frank Boots and Commander Walter Hansen.

Commander Frank Boots, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, Commander Walter Hansen and Minister of Justice and  Social Affairs, Rocco Tjon.After three years, as Commander of the Navy in the Caribbean and Director the Coast Guard, the contract of Mr. Boots expired, and he will return to the Netherlands. The Prime Minister stated the relations between the Marine Barracks in Aruba and the Dutch Marines in Curacao were always positive. As the director the Coast Guard, Commander Boots had sound relations with the police force and other local entities to help keep our borders safe.

The official transfer of command to Commander Walter Hansen took place on August 24, 2023, in Curacao. Prime Minister thanked Commander Boots for the sound cooperation and efforts to help keep Aruba’s border safe. She also wished Commander Hansen success in his new function.
