Appointment of Mrs. Monica Kock and Mr. Rosslin Marchena as chairperson and deputy chairperson respectively of the Electoral Council

ORANJESTAD - The president of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Mrs. Eunice A. Saleh, announces that, by order of July 1, 2021, Mrs. Monica Helena Johanna Kock has been appointed president of the Electoral Council as of July 17, 2021.

The Acting President of the General Audit Chamber, Mr. Frederick Nuboer, CAMS, announces that, by order of July 1, 2021, Mr. Rosslin Marchena has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Council as of July 17, 2021.

Deputy chairman of the Electoral Council Mr. ing. Hubert Cirilo Maduro and the acting chairman of the Court of Audit, Mr. Frederick Nuboer.Under the second paragraph of Article 5 of the National Ordinance on Political Parties (AB 2001 no. 96), the chairman and deputy chairman of the Electoral Council are appointed by the President of the Common Court of Justice and the President of the General Court of Auditors respectively.

Whereas the term for which the appointment of Mr. dr. Glenn Albert Edward Thodé and Mr. mr. ing. Hubert Cirilo Maduro, the current president, and deputy president respectively, is limited to a period of four years and ends on July 16, 2021, it is necessary to fill the vacant position of President and Deputy President of the Electoral Council as of July 17, 2021.

After intensive rounds of consultations, Ms. Kock and Mr. Marchena have been found willing to assume the presidency and deputy presidency.

The President of the Joint Court of Justice and the Acting President of the General Audit Chamber Mrs. Kock and Mr. Marchena every success in holding these positions. At the same time, a huge thank you to Mr. Thodé and Mr. Maduro for their efforts in holding these positions over the past period. This morning, Mr. Nuboer received Mr. Maduro at the office of the General Court of Auditors to thank him personally.
