Aruba closes its borders with Brazil

ORANJESTAD - The Government’s Crisis Team has announced that, due to the new strain of Covid19 found in Brazil and other South American countries, many airlines are canceling flights from South American destinations.

Coronavirus COVID-19 They took these measures to stop the new virus strain in Brazil from getting into other countries.

The KLM also stopped all their flights from South American countries. However, the KLM is still flying to and from the Dutch Caribbean islands, Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, and the BES Islands. The local Crisis Team urges everybody to pay attention to the latest updates regarding this policy as it may change at any time.  Aruba will close its borders with Brazil starting January 25, 2021. The border with Venezuela and Peru remains closed for the time being.

Be aware that the USA and other countries may impose a quarantine when arriving, even when you have a negative test result. This measure will complicate traveling for any passengers, as you may even be stuck abroad for a while. The Crisis Team will monitor these developments and will notify the community accordingly.
