The summit had presentations by Aruba’s top leaders, executives and Entrepreneurs as well as international speakers who inspired and motivated the participants. The three days event was held online and had participants from all around the world, including the Dutch Kingdom, Europe, Caribbean, South American countries and the United States. A total of 366 persons registered and 69% actually attended. The participants scored the summit with an 8.5 out of 10.
Recap Aruba Investment Summit 2021
On day 1 of the summit, the participants were welcomed by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Xiomara Maduro. The Minister also launched the new logo and branding of the Aruba Investment Promotion Agency (ARINA), now a unit of the DEZHI. The Minister also stated her hopes to soon welcome the participants in person in Aruba and for Aruba to soon become ‘One Happy Investment Island’. The Director of the DEHZI Mrs. Maria Dijkhoff-Pita and Mrs. Marielsa Croes talked about the investment climate in Aruba and Mr. Daniele Ferrara, CEO of Gianni’s Group spoke about their sustainable and diverse projects he invested in.
On the second day, CEO and CCO of Aruba Ports Authority, Mr. Marc Figaroa and Mr. Lex de Ridder presented the project ‘Port City Oranjestad’ and the ‘Barcadera Business Park’. CEO of the Aruba Airport Authority, Mr. Joost Meijs, together with Mr. Shensly Tromp, Director of the Airport Development and Technology presented ‘Aruba Gateway 2030’ and a innovative project of Electric Aviation. Mr Eric Mijts, coordinator of SISSTEM at the University of Aruba spoke about the innovative solutions for the islands and Mr. Martin Berkenkamp, representer of the German companies GreenHub Technology gave his testimony about the establishment of one investment project in Aruba.
On the last day of the summit, Mr. Brad J. Sugars, Founder and CEO of ActionCOACH gave a speech about ‘disruptive entrepreneurship’. Mr. Remko van der Veldt, Managing
Director of the Royal Aruba Aloe talked about the internationalization strategies lately used at their company. The last speaker, Mr. Andrei Moarcas of OCTA presented a study referring to the implementation of ‘Blue Economy in island economies’. The Prime Minister Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes made the closing statement were she emphasized on the fact that Aruba is ready to welcome new investors on to the island.
During the summit, the participants received valuable information on how to invest in Aruba, had the opportunity to network and exchange contact information but were also inspired by the multiple speakers.
