The Minister of Finance and Culture Xiomara Maduro and the Minister of Education and Sports Endy Croes accompanied the Prime Minister. The author of the book is Mrs. Esmeralda Tromp, better known by the children as Tanchi Esme.
Tanchi Esme has been entertaining and educating the children for over 25 years with her children’s radio program Mundo Infantil.
Buchi Penchi Malo is a story about avoiding negative thinking, doing bad things, and about having long-term goals in life. The book contains many life lessons, like forgiveness, showing affection, and the choice to remain on the right path. The Prime Minister thanked Tanchi Esme for launching her new book “Buchi Penchi Malo”.
The Prime Minister also thanked Colegio Ora Ubao for the presentation and their efforts to stimulate the children to read more books.
The Prime Minister left a message to all the parents, aunts, uncles, grandma, and grandpa: “Let us pass the reading values on our children. It will help the children trust and expand their horizons. This week’s theme is “Be what you want to be”. Children can become what they want. This is the powerful message we need to teach our kids. What they set in their minds and hearts, they can reach”
