By September 1, 2020, all motorized vehicles should have their 2020 tags in order

ORANJESTAD – By Tuesday, September 1, 2020, all registered motorized vehicles should have their 2020 tags in order.

Plenty of time was given to everyone to their vehicle registration in order.

The Tax Department initiated the distribution of the 2020 vehicle tags on the 8th of April 2020. The distribution was well structured providing plenty of opportunities for drivers to obtain their tags. It is now time for all registered vehicles used driven on public roads to be properly tagged with the white and red 2020 tags. It is prohibited from now on to have the orange and white 2019 tags on any vehicle.

Law enforcement

The Tax Department has notified the Police Department that they can start enforcing the vehicle tax law starting September 1, 2020. Be aware that only official vehicle tags provided by the Tax Department are legal and valid. Vehicle tags made with stickers or cardboard is illegal and both the large and small official registration tags should be installed on the vehicle, on the front and rear of the vehicle.

Tag pick up

All automobilists that for whatever reason have not yet picked up their vehicle tags, should make an appointment as soon as possible online on  in order to pick up their tags.

For pick up please visit the annex building at Camacuri 2 across the main building. The pick up of vehicle tags is only with an appointment.
