The Caribbean Med Labs is an NGO based in Trinidad & Tobago. The foundation's objective is to improve national and regional medical laboratory information and patient management, disease prevention, and control. It aims at building and sustaining the highest quality medical laboratory services through a self-sustaining mechanism.
They provided feedback to the Minister about their two days visit to Aruba, where they visited multiple laboratories.
The collaboration between the Government of Aruba and the Caribbean Med Labs started in 2019.
Here they have committed to helping Aruba to ensure and standardize the high quality of the tests performed in the laboratories in Aruba. The Caribbean Med Labs praised the quality of the tests offered by the various labs but especially praised the international accreditation that several labs in Aruba already have.
Another essential issue that The Caribbean Med Labs has raised is the imperative role of a laboratory for local public health issues but also for tourism.
The Government of Aruba will continue the cooperation with Caribbean Medlab to assist in the quality development of our laboratories to ensure that all tests performed are reliable and carried out by accredited, certified, and quality laboratories.
