ORANJESTAD – The Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DIP), reminds all interested parties that lot petitions for carnival 2020 can be purchased and submitted at the DIP between January 7,  2020 and January 13, 2020.

On Tuesday,  January 14, 2020, the lucky names will be drawn in the presence of the notary.
Lot winners need to keep in mind that there are conditions applicable for the lot permit. Failing to comply with any of these conditions will result in the withdrawal of the permit and this will be granted to the next participant on the drawn list. The person, whose permit is withdrawn, will no longer be able to participate in future carnival lot drawings.

Everyone selected for the lot permit should claim their permit personally and cannot assign a third party to claim the permit.

Requests for Trailer, scaffolds or car lot.

Lot permit requests can exclusively be submitted by individuals 18 years and older at the DIP.

Each petition costs AWG. 4,- for a stamp, according to the stamp decree “Zegelverordening” (AB 1998 no. GT 1), art. 34.
Only one carnival lot will be granted to each individual. Should the same person’s name be drawn more than once, the DIP will only grant the person one lot. This rule also applies in the event the same address is drawn more than once. The first person registered to the same address is the one receiving the lot permit. Lot permit fee: AWG. 25,-, stamp AWG. 4,- and precario AWG. 135,-, according to the “Retributie en Legesbesluit Directie Infrastructuur en Planning (AB 2004 no. 7), art. 1.

Winners of a lot should personally visit the DIP at Sabana Blanco 68 to choose their preferred lot. The selection of lot location is according to the order of the drawing. A valid identification (driver’s license ID card or passport) should be presented upon selecting of lot.

Any unclaimed lot within one week of the grand parade on February 16, 2020, will be voided and can be given to another individual on the waiting list.
