ORANJESTAD - The Section for Infectious Diseases, the Youth Foundation Health Care section, and the White Yellow Cross Aruba Foundation organize the Children Vacunathon for children between the ages 5 and 11.

These children can receive their vaccine on Saturday, January 22, and Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Centro Deportivo Betico Croes from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The vaccine for this age group has a reduced dose.

Most children only have very mild symptoms after getting infected with Covid19. However, a few children will have severe symptoms and may need hospitalization. In addition, a small number of these children can develop “Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome Children (MIS- C)”. MIS-C is a condition where different body parts may become inflamed, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes, or gastrointestinal organs. The children Covid vaccine protects children prevents MIS-C, and prevents long-term (long Covid) symptoms after infection.

Children VacunathonThe Children Vaccine is for children between the ages 5 and 11, was not infected with Covid-19 after November 1, is not living with someone else who is currently in isolation, is not quarantined, and does not have any Covid19 symptoms when attending the Vacunathon.

Children that received their first Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson vaccine abroad can get their second vaccine only if they received their first vaccine at least eight weeks ago.

The organizers urge the parents to download the Aruba Health App and register their children on the “Add user” tab, to facilitate the vaccination of their children.

The organizers are urging the parents to only have one parent or guardian escort the children at the Vacunathon to avoid congestion and agglomeration at the Centro Deportivo Betico Croes.

On the Vacunathon day, please show the child AZV card, Digital AZV card, or Passport if the child has no AZV card.

The vaccine is also available for undocumented children living here longer than four months.

“We welcome parents and their children so that our children can be protected and together move forward and achieve the recovery of Aruba”, the organizers stated.

We work together on an informative, accessible and user-friendly Government Portal for Aruba.
