Tax payers can choose to make payments in one time or in partial payments.
To facilitate their customers, the Tax Department offers partial payment service as was the case last year. Partial payment provides clients with the option to pay their vehicle tax in advance and in installments to provide some sort of relief from the financial burden of paying their vehicle tax at once. Currently the tax payers have 4 months to pay no later than the deadline of January 31, 2022. For companies that have many cars, this partial payment service is a good option.
The payment conditions:
- Vehicle tax should be paid in advance, not later than January 31, 2022;
- Payments are monthly;
- The minimum amount allowed to be paid monthly in installments is Afl. 50 or Afl. 200 (depending on the vehicle tax category)
- Payments cannot be under Afl. 50 unless the final payment is less;
- The last payment should be completed not later than January 31, 2022. The partial payment service is only applicable for vehicle tax.
The minimum monthly amount depends on the vehicle tax category.
The following amounts applies per vehicle tax category:

The Tax Office recommends taxpayers to pay via the online banking system of Aruba Bank or Banco di Caribe, using the “Bill Payment” option. Choose the Biller: Account DIMP – Motorrijtuigbelasting.
For proper processing of online payments, please include:
- Individual tax number of the person to whom the car is registered;
- payment period (example: 2020);
- vehicle Tag/ license plate number;
In these cases, you have to enter: 12345678-2022-A92345. Those making partial payments via a bank can request their invoice online after completing all the tax payments.

Clients paying at the bank can request proof of payment on the website of the Tax Department.
Payments can also be made at the main office of the Tax department in Camacuri, any of the MFA’s, and the branch in the Post Office building in San Nicolas.
The deadline is January 31, 2022
The deadline to pay the first half-year of 2022 is January 31, 2022.
Vehicles that falls in the category of MFA, MFV, and personalized license plates must be paid completely not later than January 31, 2022. After January 31, 2020, it is no longer possible to pay the first half-years partially.
License plates 2022
For 2022, the Tax office will not offer new license plates. The taxpayers will continue to use the current license plates, namely the red and white ones.
Pay on time
The Tax Department urges everyone to make their motor vehicle tax payment as soon as possible and not wait until the very last day, January 31, 2022.
If you fail to pay your vehicle tax, or do not pay on time, you will receive a fine of 50% for non-compliance.
