The Expo's goal is to inform the community on how to reduce and prevent chronic diseases. In 2021, research determined that 16.2% of the community has diabetes. The world average is 8%.
Another study determined that 75% of dialysis cases were preventable with a healthier lifestyle.
It is the first time that stakeholders are organizing this exposition to raise awareness of the Aruban community regarding a more active and healthy lifestyle. The entrance is completely free of charge. Various health sector representatives will be present to provide information in their respective booths. The community is welcome to receive valuable information to start or continue its healthy lifestyle.
Many diseases are preventable by taking small steps towards a healthy lifestyle. Eating fruits and vegetables is one example. In addition, physical activities, like walking or running for 30 minutes, are beneficial to your health.
The Minister of Public Health, Dangui Oduber invites the community to visit the Expo. More information will follow soon regarding the date and venue.
