ORANJESTAD - According to the strategy established by the DVG and the general practitioner association of Aruba (HAVA), last week they changed the “case definition” for the testing of COVID-19.

This means that more people can test for COVID-19. Initially, only persons with symptoms, that have traveled to an affected country or has been in contact with a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, qualified for testing.

That has now changed with the new requirements. Any person with the following symptoms can be tested:

  • Coughing;
  • Sore throat;
  • Loss of smell or taste;
  • Difficulty breathing.

If you have any of the above-listed symptoms, please contact 280.0101 to receive an appointment for testing.

Persons with appointments are urged to be present on the appointed date and time. The COVID-19 test reacts when the virus is present in a person’s body. Asymptomatic person testing will result in a non-reliable result. That is the reason individuals are urged to only be tested in case they have any of the above-listed symptoms.

We work together on an informative, accessible and user-friendly Government Portal for Aruba.
