ORANJESTAD – The Ministry of General Affairs jointly with the Ministry of Social Affairs wants to focus on the importance of the press in our democracy.

Do you want to be a journalist for a day? For the solid development of a nation, it needs to continue to elevate the quality of the information provided to its citizens.

Hence, the Government wants to focus on our children, future journalists. Through the project “Journalist for one day”, children will get the opportunity to know, via a practical manner, what the job of a journalist entails and thus encourage our children to study journalism.

During 5 weeks, our Prime Minister Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes will invite a group of children to ask questions during the youth press conference.

For the first time, children will get the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister questions in person and get their questions answered, Children of primary schools can register online with the help of their parents or representatives via the website www.specialprojectsaruba.org and ask three questions. After registering they will receive an automatic e-mail confirming their inscription in their mailbox (or junk mail folder). You may also download the form, print it, fill it out and submit it to the government building in Oranjestad.

Children with the most interesting questions will get the chance to participate. The deadline to register is Monday, March 22, 2021.

We work together on an informative, accessible and user-friendly Government Portal for Aruba.
