ORANJESTAD- During the press conference on August 21, 2021, the Prime Minister showed a striking picture depicting a doctor who is almost drowning to keep a patient safe.

She used the picture to describe the situation at the hospital.

“Today the hospital told us that this is the situation they are facing. They are begging for help because many persons requiring medical help come to the hospital simultaneously. This situation is similar these days for all our front liners. Let us not forget that others are sacrificing themselves and their families to keep us safe. We also must do our part by complying with the regulations and to stay safe at home as much as possible.

Let us keep our front liners in our prayers. If you have plans to go outside today, tonight or tomorrow, please ditch them and stay inside where you are safer. God willing, in a few days, we can combat the situation we are in and go back to what seems like normalcy. If you have a party planned, please postpone it for later.

As we said, everything is set for September 1, when we can open our schools. They already lost two weeks, and it is also unfair to them. We want them to continue with their studies. However, to reach this goal, we must unite”.
