General Audit Chamber Aruba: Who controls the auditor?

ORANJESTAD - The General Audit Chamber Aruba notes an incorrect statement by the Aruba Financial Supervision Board (CAft) and wishes to correct this omission.

Annual report General Audit ChamberIt concerns the publication about the failure of High Colleges, among others, to provide financial accountability for the fiscal year 2019.

Recently, a public mention appeared in the local media by the chairman of the CAft, Mr. Gradus, that the General Audit Chamber has not to provide accountability for the financial year 2019. This statement is incorrect.

Given its statutory task and role of the supervisory body on behalf of Parliament and of the Country of Aruba, the General Chamber of Auditors has its financial records and accounts audited annually by an external auditor. This is further provided with an assessment statement, as evidenced by its 2019 Annual Report.

The 2019 annual report was formally presented to Parliament, the government, and all stakeholders, including CAft, on September 10, 2020. Besides, as of that date, the 2019 Annual Report is public and publicly available to all on the website of the Chamber of Audit, www.rekenkamer.aw.

We work together on an informative, accessible and user-friendly Government Portal for Aruba.
