Governor visits HOH hospital

ORANJESTAD - The Governor of Aruba, Z.E. Alfonso Boekhoudt, paid a visit to the Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital (HOH) in the connectiont of the control of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Governor visits Horacio Oduber HospitalDuring his visit, the Governor spoke, among other things, with doctors, nurses, and employees of the hospital and with the chairman a.i of the Board of Directors and was informed about how the hospital is dealing with the crisis. The Governor expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributes to the fight against the virus in the hospital.

Governor visits Horacio Oduber HospitalTo be well prepared for an influx of new corona patients, the HOH has tightened measures against infections and set up a separate COVID19 department. As a precautionary measure, a triage site has been set up outside the hospital to allow early separation of Corona patients from other patients, thereby reducing the risk of contamination. IC capacity has also been substantially expanded, including respirators and medical personnel from the Netherlands.

Through telephone calls and, if possible, working visits, Governor Boekhoudt informs himself about the consequences of the corona outbreak and expresses his support and appreciation for the efforts of so many in the fight against the pandemic. Measures are taken in consultation with the organizations involved to allow working visits to take place safely.
