Help name the faces of Lago

ORANJESTAD – The National Library of Aruba is seeking the help of the Aruban community, former LAGO employees, and their families, to find the names of those on the photographs and to describe the situation and department seen on the photographs. 

The faces of LagoThis information is very important for the library to be able to document these pictures for the next generations. Anyone recognizing any of these individuals in the photos can request a high-quality digital version for print.

The faces of LagoThe library has a great collection of photos of the LAGO Oil and Transport Company Ltd.

LAGO operated for more than 50 years on the island and had a prominent role in the economic and cultural development in Aruba. The 745 photos published by the library, belonged to the LAGO’s PR department titled “Human interest/people at work”.

They are available on and within a few weeks will be available on the library’s Facebook page

The digital collection of the National Library contains over 26 thousand publications (books, newspapers, and magazines), including 3500 audiovisual publications (photographs, videos, maps, and more). All this belongs to the cultural, historical, literary, and documental heritage of Aruba and the Caribbean. The collection is available on the library’s digital platform
