As stated before, on April 8, 2020, the Tax Department initiated the distribution of the new license plates in phases due to the Coronavirus. Phase 1 started with the commercial and public sector, including all companies, Government Departments, and all other entities like institutions, etc. They had the opportunity to submit the list of all the required license plates for their organization including their employees' license plates.
The Tax Department is winding up the first phase and getting ready to initiate the second phase of distribution.
In the second phase of distribution, the Tax Department will be giving the license plates to companies that provide delivery service. Each client has the freedom to choose their preferred delivery company. Keep in mind that this service is not mandatory. Details will be announced in the near future but ait is safe to state that an authorization letter that needs to be provided to the delivery company. In addition, it is important to state that the Tax Department will only be working with delivery companies that abide by the stipulated regulations.
During phase 2, the situation with regards to the COVID-19 limitations will be evaluated and phase 3 will be announced in due time. Phase 3 will be the distribution of all the remaining license plates.
This phased distribution method is done carefully to ensure the safety of everyone while following the current instructions to avoid agglomeration and to stop the spread of COVID-19.
