The national Vaccination campaign against COVID-19 takes place this Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 at the Teresita Center in San Nicolas, Centro Libertador Betico Croes in Sta. Cruz, Club Don Bosco in Noord, and the Ritz Carlton Hotel. From 9.00 am to 4.00 pm non-stop all persons who are not vaccinated yet or persons will still need to get their second vaccine, can go to the mentioned locations.
“The goal of the Government is to protect every citizen, especially the most vulnerable. More and more it is proven that once a person is vaccinated, the chance for them to get the virus and transmit it to others is minimal. In case they do get the virus, the effects are not serious”, the Prime Minister, stated.
Mobile vaccination unit
At the same time as the vaccine marathon, a mobile unit will be available in the districts to provide vaccination closer to the persons living in these areas.
Bring your AZV card or Health App. Undocumented persons and those not inscribed in the Civil Registry but are residing for more than 6 months in Aruba are eligible to get the vaccine. They have to bring their passport as proof.
“I am appealing for national solidarity. More than 7000 citizens got their first vaccine during the first vaccine marathon. We are counting on you to get your second vaccine this weekend.
I want to inspire everyone to get his or her vaccine this weekend, to convince a friend, colleague, or family member to get the vaccine. This way more people will vaccinate”, the Prime Minister said.
In closing the Prime Minister said that this weekend approximately 150 health care workers, among others doctors and nurses will provide their best service at the vaccine marathon. For those who doubt the Pfizer vaccine, physicians will be present to explain and maybe convince you to take the vaccine.
