The Government makes its maximum effort to bring back cruise tourism to Aruba.
In October, Aruba will welcome cruise ships from Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and Carnival Cruise Lines. For the remainder of 2021, there are 18 more calls scheduled.
The Minister of Tourism, Aruba Ports Authority (APA), and the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), are proactively approaching the cruise lines and explaining the situation in Aruba. They also shared the safety protocols in place with the cruise lines.
Aruba was the first destination for cruise ships, and it helped Aruba recover its cruise tourism. A flourishing cruise industry will bring opportunities for the economy, will generate employment for tour operators, taxis, restaurants, etc.
Similar to stay-over tourism, cruise tourism will also see a gradual increase as projected by the APA.
