It was a special day for the management and members, with the official opening of their new building, "House of OPPA" on August 26, 2021.
Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes attended the opening and expressed that it is an honor for her to congratulate OPPA on this beautiful project and thanked all pensioners for building our country.
OPPA is the organization representing retired civil servants of Aruba. In July, OPPA met with formateur Evelyn Wever-Croes. During this meeting, they submitted a comprehensive document outlining the challenges that the elderly face.
One highlighted topic in this document is more senior citizens' representation. Another issue is and for the government to take into account their concerns. Senior citizens comprise a significant and treasured part of our community and are the ones that build our economy.
The Prime Minister thanked the management and members for their 33 years of existence and their beautiful building. She also expressed her gratitude to them for their service to our pensioners.
