Protocol ceremony Kings Day 2023

ORANJESTAD - On April 27, 2023, Aruba celebrated the birthday of King Willem-Alexander, King’s Day.

For this occasion, the Minister of Finance and Culture, Mrs. Xiomara Maduro, together with the reception committee and police high command, welcomed the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Juan Alfonso Boekhoudt, and his wife upon their arrival at Wilhelminapark.

The ceremonies were also attended by, among others, Prime Minister, Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes and the Council of Ministers and Parliament members of Aruba, representatives of the Royal Navy, and the Corps consulate. The protocol ceremony began with the Dutch national anthem followed by the national anthem of Aruba presented by the corps of the Royal Navy. 

Ceremony in honor of King Willem Alexander’s birthday (King’s Day).After President of Parliament Edgard Vrolijk spoke and congratulated the King on his birthday on behalf of the Aruban community, the ceremony continued with performances by the dance group Dazzling Dancers led by Jeanique de Palm.

An additional prize was awarded to young athlete Rebecca Janssen, and the incentive prize went to Angela Geerman.

Minister Maduro wished King Willem-Alexander a happy birthday and congratulated the Aruban community with the celebration of King’s Day 2023 and also expressed her thanks to the organizers and our youth talents for their beautiful performances.
