The Webinar is for the traditional and social companies as well as for foundations. The Webinar will disclose the ways social businesses in Aruba and in the region, have adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to generate economic activity and employment while keeping the social component and environment in their business model.
Minister Xiomara Maduro together with high-ranking officials from Mayotte and Greenland will start the Webinar. The Webinar will also include Mrs. Ulla Engelman, representative of the European Union. Her participation makes the Webinar interesting for Aruba’s cooperation with the European Commission for local companies and entrepreneurs who incorporate the social component and environment win their business model.
The webinar brings local entrepreneurs in connection with entrepreneurs from other Overseas Countries and Territories (LGO’s) and ultra-peripheral regions (UPG’s) like Greenland and Mayotte. Participants will hear about other’s best practices so they can also incorporate the social components in the best possible way in their business model. On the other hand, we can show the European Commission, that Aruba is a serious partner with other LGO and UPG territories and can have access to the resources offered by the European Union destined for social businesses.
The local speakers are Mr. Rendell de Kort of Cornerstone Economics and Mrs. Lucia White of Happyponics Aruba.
The webinar’s topic “Covid19; Social Economy, an opportunity to transform the Europe of the Sea, is open for anyone interested in the topic, especially companies and foundations that are open to finding new ways to contribute to the community, in balance with their business aspect.
