ORANJESTAD – On July 12 2022, the Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Mr. Dangui Oduber, held a successful meeting with the Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques SITA Americas.

The Government of Aruba continues to work on reaching a new collaboration agreement with the SITA to improve the visitors' experience.

Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Mr. Dangui Oduber, and the representatives of the Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques SITA Americas. During the pandemic, the Government of Aruba worked with the SITA for healthcare credentials. Now they are working on another project called Digital Travel Credentials (DTC). These credentials simplify the entire process travelers through, like verification and approval.

Everyone hopes that traveling goes back to the simple and pleasant way it was before the pandemic. SITA is a multinational information technology company that provides IT and air transport communication services to the aviation industry. The company gives service to over 400 members and 2800 clients worldwide. They handle 90% of the aviation world. SITA and Aruba Airport Authority have had an excellent relationship for several years.

The DTC project is innovative, making it possible for travelers to travel hassle-free. Once American tourists check in and complete the pre-screening in the USA, the Aruban Immigration Department receives this information.

Minister Oduber is pleased with the meeting in which they exchanged lots of ideas and information with the SITA representatives and the president of the Americas Division.

With the support of the SITA, Aruba can welcome tourists with open arms while ensuring the local community's safety and mitigating the spreading of Covid19.

We work together on an informative, accessible and user-friendly Government Portal for Aruba.
