Sports activities have resumed on November 7

ORANJESTAD - On November 6, 2020, the Crisis team announced that sports activities resumed on November 7, 2020, under stipulated regulations.

SportsBased on the current situation of the pandemic in Aruba and the fact that the virus is transmitted passively, the DVG considers the risks of infection being low and gave the green light to restart sports activities. The safety protocols, however, apply for the sports events as well. Sport is essential for physical and mental fitness so it should start as soon as possible.

All the protocols, specifically for sports, are available on Sports organizations are encouraged to take notice of these protocols.

The protocols indicated by the DVG are to avoid agglomeration and spreading of the virus since competitions and tournaments usually go hand in hand with cheering, singing, and shouting. For now, spectators are not allowed at sporting events.
