ORANJESTAD - Recently, the Multidisciplinary Inspection Team of the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce and Industry (DEACI), the Department of Public Health (DVG), and the Police Department conducted inspections at supermarkets in Santa Cruz.

During these routine inspections, they control compliance with several regulations, namely:

  1. Maximum prices for products in the basic basket as indicated by the government;
  2. price indication;
  3. business permit;
  4. alcohol sale;
  5. hygiene;
  6. expiration date on products;
  7. health certificate.

There were no irregularities with the maximum pricing of the basic basket products or proper pricing or business permit during the inspection at the supermarkets they visited,

However, they found hygiene infractions and irregularities with expiration dates. The team will revisit the supermarkets in the upcoming days to ensure they address these issues.

The complete list of products in the basic basket, including their maximum price, is available on www.deaci.aw and the APP ‘Control di Prijs’.

For complaints or irregularities, contact the DEACI at 5212400 or by email: info@deaci.aw.
