ORANJESTAD -During a press conference held on November 23, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes gave an update on the Covid-19 situation in Aruba.

The Prime Minister received feedback from the Taskforce stating that most establishments and their clients are behaving adequately. Most establishments have adapted to the safety protocols and the clients are responding well to these. Establishments are also approaching the Taskforce with different questions and the Taskforce visits these establishments to inspect and make sure the establishments comply.

During a press conference held on November 23, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes provides new information regarding the COVID-19 situation in Aruba. The Taskforce also noticed that now clients are addressing others to comply with the rules. Other clients usually correct each other, who enter the establishments without a facemask. This is the right attitude since it is the responsibility of each one of us to fight this virus.

For the holiday season, the Government and the Crisis Team are allowing more room for socializing. However, they remind the community that more socializing translates into risks.

“With the relaxation, we trust that every single citizen will know to take care of themselves and their family and will continue to apply the safety protocols. That is why I urge everyone to wash their hands with a higher frequency possible when hand sanitizers are not available. When entering stores or establishments, use hand sanitizer as well. Use face masks when inside stores but also when shopping on Main Street when many others are shopping. Keep physical distance when you have guests at home. If you have any symptoms, stay home and contact your family physician for guidance.

I do not get tired of repeating; Rich and powerful countries are not the ones who overcome this virus, but the countries who are disciplined. We have shown that we can, we overpowered the second wave, and let’s continue with the same discipline, let us remain careful to avoid the third wave while we wait on a vaccine”, the Prime Minister said.
