The theme of this year is ‘Biba Natura-Lesa’. Twelve authors and illustrators will participate during the week of November 7 to November 11, 2022, at more than 60 schools and both the library in Oranjestad and San Nicolas.
Teacher and book author Gino Vrolijk will be going all out during this book festival with his books Sumpi e wanglo sabi!’, ‘Na caminda pa e fiesta grandi’ and ‘Amigonan tur caminda!’ which he co-authored. These books can be read or borrowed at the National Library.
Gino feels connected with the theme of this year, "Biba Natura-Lesa" and stated: “Nature is the origin of everything. It is the source of life and inspiration. We can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch everything nature offers. All of this makes us curious to learn and know more about nature and its care."
In one way or another, we all enjoy nature when we walk in the meadows, swim in the ocean, look at the stars at night, work or live in the country or make positive use of any form of it. It is obvious; we are all part of nature. Long live Natura-lesa!”
