The Minister of Public Health invested about Afl. 45000 for these 2 fumigation machines in order to help battle the mosquitos in Aruba.
These machines are German build by manufacturer Igeba and have been delivered by their dealer in Aruba DAL pest control.
One of the fumigators is a ULV (Ultra Low Volume) aerosol generator. This uses high air volumes in a low pressure to convert the liquid pesticide into fine mist to be better sprayed. The second machine is a Thermal Fogger which creates a high volume of pesticide smoke for fumigation.
These machines will be used when there is an up rise of mosquitos in residential areas due to rain or when there is an elevated threat of mosquito-borne illnesses like Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
These machines can also be used to combat the black mosquitos in mangroves that are commonly seen in Savaneta and Pos Chkito.
The acquisition of these brand new machines will certainly be effectively used by the team of the GKMB as they can keep doing their job of combatting mosquitos quicker.
