The Governor of Aruba starts consultations

ORANJESTAD - The Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, will start with consultations with advisory bodies and political leaders on Monday morning, June 28, 2021. 

During the consultations, the Governor will be advised on the possibilities for the formation of a new cabinet, given the results of the elections for the States.

Building Cabinet Governor Aruba  Governor Boekhoudt first speaks separately with the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Mr. Frits Goedgedrag, and the President of the Staten, Mr. Juan Thijsen. Then, starting Monday afternoon, the Governor will speak with the leaders of the political parties that obtained at least one seat based on the preliminary election results. These are Ms. Evelyn Wever-Croes (MEP), Mr. Mike Eman (AVP), Mr. Ursell Arends (RAIZ), Ms. Marisol Lopez Tromp (MAS), and Mr. Miguel Mansur (Accion21). 

Subsequently, the Governor will hold consultation discussions with the President of the Social Economic Council, Ms. Tisa LaSorte, the Acting President of the General Audit Office, Mr. Frederick Nuboer, and with the Aruban member of the Aruba Financial Supervision Board, Ms. Hellen van der Wal.

The consultations mark the beginning of the formation process to create a new government for Aruba. It is expected that the consultations will be concluded on Wednesday, June 30. The next step in the formation process is that the Governor, based on the outcome of the consultation conversations, appoints a mediator and formulates the assignment to this person.
