The National Library offers a short creative writing course

ORANJESTAD - The National Library of Aruba is offering a short course in creative writing in May. 

The instructor is local author Mr. Vi Fran Jr. The advanced-level course is once a week for eight weeks at the library in Oranjestad. It is for adults, and the instruction language is Papiamento.

Creative writing.The course is on Wednesday mornings from 09.00 – 11.00 am on the following days

  • May 31, 2023; 
  • June 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2023;
  • July 5, 12, and 19, 2023.

This course costs Afl. 135,00 per participant. 

This course is captivating for all who like to write fiction, desire to learn more, and receive guidance from Vi Frank Jr. Participants can write in their language choice and in the genre they prefer. Participants will get assignments for the weekends and practice. Topic instructor Frank will cover characters, plot, conflicts, descriptions, and scene.

Mr. Vivienno Frank Jr. published two books, ‘Damnatio ad bestias’ (2020) and Outpost Alto Vista and other cosmic horrors from Aruba (2020). He is now working on his third publication. Both books are available at the library for members to loan and at the local bookstores to purchase.
