As a standard procedure, every person or organization that wants to organize a social, sports or education event that requires a permit, need to request this in advance. 10 working days before the event was the minimum required. This has however been adapted as per November 1, 2019 to 12 business days before the event date.
Keep in mind that Saturdays and Sundays or official off-days are not considered business days. It is important to note that those who have an old permit that has not been picked up or paid for, should be paid in full before getting the new permit.
Permits requested after the 12 business day time frame will not be processed.
All other requirements remain unmodified. The Police Department urges everyone to keep this change in mind and emphasize that all police orders should be followed related to public order and that the police are authorized to stop ongoing events should the terms are violated.
